The Lingurar family, made up of four generations, is at the center of their village community. The daily life of the adults is determined by the need to constantly find new sources of survival. “The Roma never have any money,” a little girl laments, while some older villagers even wish to return to the days of the dictator Ceausescu. Back then, industrial jobs in the nearby city provided a livelihood.
