A German Woman's Life 1915-1975. In Jutta Brückner's photographic film, the director's mother recounts the experiences of her 60-year life: her father's early death in an accident, the limitations of the family of five in the petty bourgeois milieu, her apprenticeship as a seamstress, her marriage to a social democrat accountant, the privations of the war, and her late realisation that she had missed out on something because she was afraid.
